Virtual gardening competition time

As we all slowly adjust to the ongoing changes caused by the coronavirus lockdown, we've come to realise just how important gardening is to us, but likewise many people who have never had the time before.

With that in mind, we've launched a competition which we hope will give everyone the opportunity to showcase what they have achieved in their own spaces. If you would like to consider entering, all the details are below. This competition is open to everyone, whether you have a hanging basket on the doorstep or a huge space.

To enter, all you have to do is email us one picture of your garden (or aspect of your garden) and we will choose one winner from June, July and August. Each monthly winner will win a Denbigh in Bloom canvas tote bag.

In September, we will choose our overall winner who will win a voucher for Greenfingers Garden Centre, a Denbigh in Bloom jute bag and key ring.

Our first competition starts 1st June, so get planning your first month’s entry!

Due to the current regulations, all applications must be submitted via email. Please send your entry to denbighinbloom@hotmail.com

Please ensure you check the rules before submitting your entry as any that do not meet the criteria will not go forward for judging.

  • Entries are limited to one photograph per garden, per month (so you can enter each month if you wish)

  • Your entry must be emailed before the 25th of the month to be considered for that month’s competition. All entries received after the 25th will not qualify for the competition

  • Please detail your name and a brief description of your entry in your email (for example ‘my hanging basket’ or ‘my garden border filled with perennials’)

  • The entry must be your garden/planter and not a public space. Communal gardens are allowed, but that must be clear on your entry description

  • The photo must be taken this year, in the month you are choosing to submit

  • Denbigh in Bloom committee and volunteers will judge 'virtually' the entries each month, the entry with the most votes will win

  • Winners will be notified by email and the winning entries will be shared on our social media

  • All submitted entries may be used on our social media to showcase the beauty of our local community and may be shared with the judges from Wales and Britain in Bloom

Good luck everyone!
