It's Your Neighbourhood is a scheme run by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), which seeks to encourage and recognise community groups that are focused on greening up and cleaning up their local areas.

 

Denbigh in Bloom is keen to get everyone involved in making their locality looking its best - whether that is your business, your local park or green space, perhaps your cul de sac or your school.  Almost any outdoor site that is being looked after by the local community qualifies.

The deadline for entries this year is the 31st March, so there is a little bit of time to contemplate and get those around you onboard.  Entry is via the Wales in Bloom website (this link is best viewed in Internet Explorer), where you can also find out more about the project.

If you decide that you would like to enter, a Wales in Bloom judge will come and meet with you when they tour your community.  You will get the opportunity to show them what you have been doing and talk about how you want to develop the site.  The scheme is non-competitive, but you will get a certificate of merit, reflecting your achievements. 

 

There are five levels of achievement - Establishing, Improving, Developing, Thriving and Outstanding.  So even if you are starting something from scratch now, you efforts will be recognised.
